No matter your interest or hobby, we have a number of ways to compete and made for kids of any age! From photography and art to fashion and gardening, there is something for every kid at heart!
Each challenge is free to participate in.
The Museum of Flight is excited to bring back Spacesuit Design Challenge! For this challenge, entrants must design, draw and build an original, handmade Spacesuit that is wearable by the designer, follows the theme and all Challenge requirements and rules.
The Top 5 Spacesuit designs in each category will be showcased in a Fashion Show on Saturday, June 15, 2024. A panel of judges will decide the winning design for each age category (four categories total) and the four winning designs will be showcased at Fashion in Flight on November 2, 2024.
2024 Theme: What Will We Wear in Space?
In conjunction with Home Beyond Earth, we ask designers to take inspiration from sci-fi designs and current technologies to imagine what future fashions will look like when humans live in space.
The 2024 Judges for the Top 20 Fashion Show are:

- Tony Vincente, CEO & Designer for Rossario George
- Amity Addrisi, Host of Seattle's New Day Northwest on King5
Challenge Details:
- March 1 through May 5, 2024 – Call for Entries EXTENDED!
- Sunday, May 5, 2024 – Entry Packet due by 5:00 p.m. PST
- Friday, May 10, 2024 – Top 20 Designs Notified
- May 10 through June 14, 2024 – Top 20 Designers Build Their Spacesuits
- Saturday, June 15, 2024 – Top 20 Fashion Show
- November 2, 2024 – Top 4 Spacesuit showcased at Fashion in Flight.

- Skylab: Ages 5-8
- Mir: Ages 9-13
- Genesis: Ages 14-17
- ISS: Ages 18+
How to Register
Please download the Entry Packet below. Once you've reviewed everything, please fill out and submit the Intent to Participate Form online which you can find linked below and in the Entry Packet. Intent to Participate Forms are due Sunday, May 5 by 5:00 PST.
